Nice, simple private albergue

Nice, clean albergue with a large shared bathroom and a good kitchen. There was a fan in the dorm which we positioned in front of the open windows, which made for a nice cool night of sleep! Based on previous feedback, I did not opt for the meals. The hospitalera was very friendly and helpful.

Good choice

Comfortable clean hostel, good hot showers. Bunk beds are very squeaky. The meal whilst adequate wasn’t great value for money, pasta and slice of pork with yoghurt and wine. Would happily stay again but not have meal, good cooking facilities

Great Albergue

Thankful for such good accommodations after last night’s stay in Los Arcos! The mattress is comfortable and the shower is hot. We added the pilgrim dinner which included spaghetti or chick pea soup, bread, pork chops, yogurt and wine. Sonia knows what she is doing!

Handy location as you enter Viana

Beds were soft and some bed frames were squeaky. No paper towels in the bathroom and bathrooms could do with a revamp.

The beds do look clean but skeptical about some.
Hostess was very lovely and helpful.

Ok to stay here. Simple but ok.

It’s fine

It is a simple but functional albergue. The staff was very nice. The dinner was plenty. The breakfast was marginal. The facilities are clean.

Don’t go there.Hygiene conditions are not good

The place is a mess:
- Bedsheets and pillows filthy
- Toilets dirty and no paper
- Shower boxes filthy
-To be fair the staff people were kind
The manager should be more respectful with their customers

Decent

The muni was closed so I stayed here. Host was nice & helpful. Beds were comfortable, if a bit noisy ( they would be more comfortable & less noisy if there was stronger wood under the bed), real linens & comforters. Good sleep! Bathrooms were clean and roomy! Nice hot shower! Use of the kitchen is allowed. Kitchen could be a bit cleaner. Good value, would recommend!!

Cozy stay in June 2023

I found this albergue very cozy and practical. Bunks were good and comfy. Everthing was clean and the place was spacious. I would definitely stay again!

Loved my stay

Only a few pilgrims. Hosts keep to themselves but are very nice and accommodating if anything is needed. Great water pressure, large showers, clean nice area, simple breakfast ready early if you want to get a move on in the morning, next to a farmacia, and a five minute walk from pub, grocery, and restaurant.

Friendly and helpful

I stayed here without a reservation. When I arrived, there was plenty of room, but it quickly filled up. Beds are nice, with clean sheets already on the beds. The showers are wonderful! Clean with lots of hot water. For 6 € they did my laundry. I had dinner for another 15€. Dinner was good--spaghetti with a meat sauce, sliced pork, wine, soup and yogurt to finish it off.

No soap What is fire plan

Stayed at Albergue Iza for 1 night
We had to drag our suitcases & packs up to the 6th floor… no lift
4 sets of bunks in one room!
Got told to be quiet mid afternoon b/c some people chose to sleep.. not my problem!
2 toilets and 2 showers for a LOT of people
No soap provided in any of the toilets

Our worst stay at the camino

We stayed in Albergue Azar April 24. We had booked a double room with shared bathroom, and the bathroom was either one floor up or one floor down, the latter in the very end of the building. There was no soap at the sink, neither paper-towels, and one of the doors for the toilet didn't close.
We had dinner, and it really wasn't worth the money. Some soup was served, and then the cook started to hand out spaghetti with tomato sauce. I asked for soup and was told that there wasn't enough soup for everyone - but I got soup. The next serving was a piece of fried meat without anything at all to go with it. And then we had a cup of yogurt.

Depends what is important to you

We had a really long day and this location being one of the first albergues at the edge of town was a welcome sight. Very clean place, modern aesthetic with everything you need. But it was lacking personality, and as others found, quite an unfriendly host. The bunk room on main floor was only option and it had barely any ventilation, especially if you had a bunk at the far end of the room. Sun deck on top floor was about 50 degrees with no umbrella so it was unusable…on a pos note our laundry dried in a flash up there. Not too far to walk into the main restaurant area.

Great staff, breakfast included.

Clean, quiet rest stop on the way to Logronyo. Nearly empty when I was there. Check where the plugs are before you choose a bed.

Best 15e spent

The check in is good
The place is neat (floor even, careful not to slip if u bare feet with a wet outside tough)
The kitchen is perfect if you need to cook (hotplate, hotwater, and everything you need)
10 bunk bed in a large single room with a really good matress
Shower are large, efficient and hot; several place to wash your teeth and a dedicated space outside to wash ur cloth
An extra terrasse on top (surrounded by other buildings) but great if you want to catch the sun
Breakfast is served in advance (prepared the day before) with chopped industrial bread, cereals, coffee and juice - fair price and perfect to start early

Allowed 2 of us to share a room with 2 beds and 2 bunks

Good value and excellent self service breakfast

20. May 2023 - 18:45

Rude, unfriendly, crowded, dirty

Do not stay here! I booked and the room was jam packed on ground floor adjacent to the kitchen. Only a door, dark, no ventilation, toilet smelled of urine. Lady on reception was extremely rude when I asked if I could have bed upstairs with a window. She told me that was what I got. At least she gave me my money back. I went to the Municipal, which was lovely, spotless, amazing views over the fields & only 6 beds in the room.

Nice, clean alburgue

My wife and I would stay here again. Our bunks were comfortable. Both dinner and beagles breakfast were add ons and the food was basic and tasty.
