Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino de Invierno app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

Dinner Time Facts

We had dinner at Casa Sabina tonight, even though it was not our albergue. Dinner service started at 1900 and it was absolutely packed well before then! However, we were able to have a beer while we waited. The girl behind the bar was absolutely run off her feet, yet kept on top of everything and got everything done for everyone in the venue with what seemed like ease, regardless of the fact there was barely any room to even move around! It was actually quite impressive, and I definitely commend that woman on a very high level! Not only did she do her job with ease, she was very friendly and communicated with us despite the language barrier of our English to her Spanish. Overall, the food was delicious and it was honestly quite cheep too; approximately between 8€ and 20€. We only ate at the bar, because you need to book into the restaurant in advance, but there is also food in the cabinets at the bar to choose from as well if you don’t feel like waiting.
Our meal portions were quite large and definitely filled us up after a long days walk. There is also a specific pilgrims menu as well, which also seemed very reasonable. My recommendation would definitely be to book in advance! If you’re staying in Roncesvalles, you NEED to have dinner reservations booked or you might struggle to find food after a long hard days walk, when all you want to do is eat, shower, and sleep. There are only three dinner restaurant options, at the other accomodations from the pilgrim refugio, no supermarket or anything like that, and it was very hard to just walk in and find some food anywhere. Check out Google and find a menu, and book your dinner alongside your accomodation. Buen Camino! All the best everyone :) hope this helps!

Good bed, excellent food

I stayed here and it’s a nice hotel and I enjoyed the dinner - I took the 8:30 sitting which means I missed the pilgrims blessing. Good choices for dinner and the breakfast was also nice. Recommend if you prefer a private room to an Albergue.

For €45 I had expected a

For €45 I had expected a little more. Had a room with 2 beds and small bathroom. Shower was good, but tiny. When washing my hair my elbows would hit the walls of the shower. Beds are short, I’m 1.67 and my toes would stick out. Clean bedsheets, but with a burning hole (cigarette?) in it. Has no bedlights, but one big light in between the beds. Switch for this light, right next to the bed, didn’t work. To make a light I had to get out of bed en walk to the other site of the room. It’s a noicy place, could here people talk/walk all night so earplugs are usefull.
Had a little bite to eat in the bar. Ham croquette was almost cold, patatas bravas were very warm, nice and plenty. Together with cola and tea cost me €10.
