Albergue Puerta de Nájera

Marion was the hostess at Albergue Puerta de Nájera. She was great and very busy! This is a popular Albergue and had a lot of folks staying here. Great location on the river right by the main old town street with cafes and bars. We got a private room with a bathroom for 50 euros. TV and private bath. Room and bath were very small, but fine. Small common refrigerator. Albergue was updated. Had some souvenirs available. No air conditioning in private rooms. Would stay here again.

I loved the funky and chic decor and warm welcome. The charging outlets were oddly placed, but that is my only complaint. Loved this place and its warm vibe!

Nice Albergue but be aware: they lock the doors at 10pm so you have a curfew. And check out is 8am, which we didn’t love.

It was a pretty nice albergue with a nice bathroom and dormitories that weren’t crowded. I liked the “home” feel. I didn’t get the community vibe here though which was the only downside. A well stocked kitchen but only a microwave to cook with — no stove or kettle.

This place sounds amazing…and will also be closed on the 15 of Nov

This has been one of my favorite places to stay. Warm and inviting, perfectly decorated, with a great common space and lounge. Has washer/dryer, sinks, microwave and fridges but no ability to cook. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and large. Marion, the hospitalera, was so accommodating and kind!

Easy booking thru WatsApp. Great check in. Felt very welcome. Room clean and tidy. Lovely bathroom.

A very clean and efficiently run Alberge. It was busy, everyone was very friendly and helpful.

The Puerta de Najera is located in a really convenient spot for pilgrims. Close to the trail and easy walking distance to local restaurants. The place has a very unique and friendly vibe with a gratefully received vending machine and a nice common table in the kitchen area. No need to go past the bridge looking for other places, just stop right on in.

I agree with all positive comments above. Kitchen has a small fridge, sink and microwave but no stove. Good place to stay.

We stayed here in July 2021 in one of the dorms and we really liked it! The Albergue was full, and to get to the other two dorms people had to pass through our dorm, so it felt a little busy and crowded. The place was really cosy though, with a charming decor and nice atmosphere. Great kitchen with plenty of space for pilgrims to have dinner together.

Albergue has a lot of character and is in a good location. The layout is a little odd, having to walk through a bedroom or two to get to other bedrooms, but besides that it was a great building and worth the price. Has a nice area to sit downstairs, inviting for social chats, and short walk to a supermarket and places to eat. It would be a little short on bathroom space when full.

Possibly my favourite place to stay on the whole Camino. Staff friendly and welcoming, dormitory clean and comfortable, bathroom clean. Great kitchen and super little sitting room. Open in September 2020

Sept 2020. For character, this is one of the best albergues on the camino. Plus it would be hard to find more helpful and friendly hospitaleros. In normal times, you definitely need to book as its always full. One of my top three favourite Albergues in the whole Camino.

This Hostel is lovely and well decorated. I believe it was €15 to stay here. €3 to wash and €3 to dry. The lady running the Albergue was always busy cleaning and instisting people wore masks.

Nice albergue, with character and decor, but facilities are basic. Bathroom small for number of pilgrims and really too many bunks in each room. A fire would prove the point! That aside still quite liked it, no cooker or kettle so made coffee before leaving in microwave.

I’ve stayed here several years in a row. The facilities are great, but just be aware that they open 10-15 minutes late every day, and they are VERY slow at checking people in. There were 10 people in front only me and I stood in line for 40 minutes.
