This place has mould, peeling wallpaper and terrible service. My friend paid for laundry service. By next morning, we were ready to leave and he still did not have his laundry back. We knocked all over the doors in the lobby. Finally we found the owner and she had not put the laundry in the dryer. Her private room stank when she came out. The place was filthy. I will post photos if I can.

Unfortunately a truly horrifying experience – absolutely not recommended

The double room was actually the only positive aspect. The rest of the hotel looked really terrible – dilapidated, dirty and in parts frankly devastated. In places it almost felt like an abandoned building: holes and cracks in walls and doors, rickety cabinets and everywhere the impression that nothing had been properly repaired or maintained for years.

The kitchen was so disgusting that we didn't even want to use it. The bathrooms were also unacceptable. The toilet was okay, but the shower was really revolting: yellowed floor, no light and a stuck lock. Added to that was an unpleasant stench coming from the bathroom.

The atmosphere on site was also very unpleasant for me personally. The people who were around there sometimes seemed very unsettling to us, so you didn't feel particularly comfortable or welcome.

I also found the security situation particularly problematic: it seemed as if the door code was the same for multiple rooms – at least our neighbor apparently had the same code as us. I can't of course say for certain whether that's the case for all doors, but you definitely don't feel safe with that.

And then there's the noise level: as a pilgrim after a long day on the Camino de Santiago, you really desperately need your sleep. Instead, I could clearly hear my neighbor talking on the phone until 3 in the morning. Around 11:30 pm, dogs were also being chased through the entire house, barking loudly.

All in all, I rarely encountered an accommodation that seemed so neglected and eerie to me. After a long day of pilgrimage, you really just wish for a clean and safe place to sleep – unfortunately we didn't get that here. Definitely not a recommendation.

If you’re traveling alone DO NOT stay in this place. Keep on walking. Place is outskirts of Grañon, nothing like the pic. No pool or restaurant. Needs major clean up.
The host rude and unwilling to solve any issues you may encounter. Bathroom in the 2nd floor needs some TLC. no curtains in the room for privacy I had to use the extra towels as curtain. Plugs for charging your phone not very accessible. If you want a small lamp bring your own the host didn’t care. Sheets are clean but lots of broken things. Someone punch a hole thru one door. I’m not sure who is doing any inspections but they obviously missed this place. 2nd time in El Camino and this is by far the worst place I had to stay as everything else is booked Sleeping with my walking clothes so I can be ready to go at first light. Today is Oct 4, 2025

There is no bar or restaurant, and it is not 1km from town or in a wooded area. Place clean and okay, but misleading info.

False information in this app. They send you to another place. Careful

It’s 1.6km from the town centre, and the dormitory was closed the day I visited in mid September 2019

We were tired after a long walk but took on the extra km or so to get to this very special spot. By far the best we stayed so far. Make the effort, its worth it. Great accommodation, great food, great people

An excellent hermitage attached to a small beautiful church. Beautiful area around to relax in. Cost is € 6. A bit of a walk outside Grañón but worth every step. Showers are beautifully hot. Excellent bar and restaurant on site. It’s a fantastic place. Absolutely love Tania and her smile. Sweetest person. Would stay here any day without hesitation. Great place. Extra 10 min walk away from the camino. So worth it. Quiet and surrounded by trees. If you try to book with booking it shows no availability all the time. Contact info shown here is wrong. This place is under new management. Old management still gets reservations and sends pilgrims to another albergue. New management is a young couple. Alex and Tania. They keep this place so clean. Great beds and great meal. Very accommodating. Stayed here Oct 2018
