Generous and helpful host

We didn’t stay, but had breakfast here as our albergue did not serve breakfast. Host doesn’t speak English, looked serious but otherwise very helpful and generous, asked us if we’d like top ups for our coffee and biscuits etc. Looks simple, clean and well-managed, would have liked to stay here instead for a more authentic Camino experience than what we had which felt more commercial

Excellent and a true Camino experience

The comments below must be from someone who had little understanding of local etiquette. Jose is a wonderful and kind man. He went out of his way to make a good locally produced meal for us and offered free pears from the garden too. He was eager to share his story and explain how life has been as a Camino host the past decade. For smaller towns, it’s increasingly hard to get pilgrims to stay so please consider staying at these more traditional places - even if the facilities are not as good as the new modern money-focused Albergues. Jose is the real deal. If you don’t speak Spanish then use google translate to communicate with him. The best of luck!

Horrible man

Really horrible man in this albergue. I stopped to ask if I could use the toilet as nothing else was open, I of course offered to pay. He said yes and then said no to money but was obviously annoyed.
I said thank you when I was leaving and he began to hurl abuse at me, saying I was an embarrassment. I pointed out he could have said no to me using the services or yes to the payment and he started swearing and shouting at me.
Horrible

Be careful of the coffee, we

Be careful of the coffee, we had to throw ours away but I had a few sips and was sick for 2 days. I spoke to other Peregrinos and the experienced ones knew the place and had similar stories. I think either the coffee or the milk had gone very bad. I told him that the milk was off and he got a bit aggressive. Something is Very wrong there, I would go
as far as to describe it as a pilgrim health hazard. Be warned!

First albergue I have been to

First albergue I have been to with outside toilets and showers, food was good, ladies working were pleasant to deal with. Beds are old and not very comfortable.
