Albergue Camino Francés Pura Vida

This my 2nd time to stay here.
Maria and Ruth make it a happy spot. Their smiles are wonderful and their energy is amazing.
Lovrly courtyard area for relaxing, washing your clothes. Plenty of hot water for a nice shower.
Restaurant also, so food and drinks and snacks available.

The sisters will put a smile in your heart snd on your face!

Lovely albergue with a lovely, sweet hospitalera. We enjoyed the beautiful courtyard and a delicious dinner. Clean bathroom with good hot water in the shower. Very charming and comfortable albergue. Right next door to the church.

We had reservations and our names were on a placard at the door when we arrived. So welcoming. The hosts bubbled over with hospitality and kindness. Dinner was awesome, breakfast too. The whole time it felt like staying with dear friends.

Oh my goodness what a wonderful stay. Maria and her sister make you feel like family. The albergue surrounds the central community area where you can sit, relax and have a beer or wash some clothes.

Dinner was fantastic and the company equally as great.

Great stay. It began with a warm smiling welcome from Maria Garetti. Beautiful courtyard and entry. Comfortable bunk bed. Delicious dinner. And, a warm goodbye and buen Camino before she went to rest. Don’t miss this place

Just like all of the other comments. This place is amazing! From your name on the sign out front. The courtyard as you come inside. The hosts Garetti and Ruth, sisters, (not nuns) and their constant smile and willingness to do anything. The cleanliness. But the food! I had lunch and dinner there and the portions were so much. Spend the night here. It’s definitely my favorite place due to the personal care and love.

Very comfortable rooms - super friendly sisters who run this Albergue ❤️ so calm and peaceful here and very clean!

We were lucky enough to only have two other people in our dorm but was such a shame for the owners, they were two sisters who could not have been more welcoming and friendly.
The meal was so good and just what we needed.
Shower room and toilet were spotless
We would definitely go back there again
The owner had the most amazing smiliest face and couldn't do enough for us .

Nice and friendly welcome. Very well organized and clean facilities. Very clean lavatories and washrooms and separate for men and women. :-) Pilgrim meal was abundant and really tasty. Agree with previous critic - you will not go to bed hungry! Nice breakfast arrangements.

I loved this stay. The rooms are spacious, clean and cool. The food is delicious and abundantly served! Friendly service.
It has been a real surprise when staying off stage and in real village communities. I

What a wonderful albergue and experience. I was welcomed so warmly and treated incredibly well during my stay. And my gosh, dinner portions were MASSIVE. You will NOT starve here. If you can, plan your journey to end up here for a night.

Best stay of the Camino so far. Comfy upper bunk bed, good laundry access and food, beautiful courtyard, and helpful host. Couldn't have asked for more.

One of the best rural albergues ever - DONOT go to the Parochial Albergue , it's ROUGH. Went there first. For €1 more you can actually stay somewhere beautiful & comfortable - Pura Vida

outgoing, friendly, cheerful and helpful!

There was a beautiful.welcome sign outside of the albergue's door with the names of all who had reservations. How posh is that?

Also, a lovely courtyard was just inside the entry.

I stayed in a lovely private room! Two beds with pretty accessories that wrre calm and peaceful!

A choice of food was available for dinner and also dining time. Food was very good. The french fries, were better than any I ever get in the states.

Maria was also helpful in confirmi g a reservation for a bed for the following night.

This is definitely a "must stay" albergue.

don’t push yourselves to Astorga and stay here. The rooms are great.. nice outdoor space.. bar and restaurant on site. The hostess is so Nice!!You won’t be disappointed.

This is the best place to stop and have a nice break instead of making the grueling trip to astorga in one go. Wonderful vegetarian pilgrim dinner, comfortable bunks, great shower/bathroom area. Maria was an excellent host and I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a quite place to rejuvenate for the next day, so thankful I stopped and had this wonderful experience!
