It was disapointing experience. The shower was not clean, the blankets had a realy bad smell and the traveler kitchen was dirty, with a mouldy refrigiator and a tabelcloth with old stains.

10 minutes off the path I'd say and about 5 km past Arzura (which didn't appeal to me at all). A lovely young English speaking host. Super clean. Has kitchen facilities if you need them as well as a mini fridge. They have a little café with a great menu whenever you want it and potato chips and pop available. It was very quiet 🤫 and just a very relaxing space.

Make sure that you really know where you are going. I had not read through all the comments. It is definitely not in Preguntoño even though this apps lists it in this section. Don’t make the mistake of using Google maps. It will take you to a completely different part of the village. Luckily, the owner picked us up by car. Also, there is no sign of the albergue visible from the road. The most difficult albergue to find!

I prefer to stay out of town, very relaxed, loads of space, and very few people. Food was good and the bed was so comfy.

Checking the previous reviews, we messaged ahead to make sure they were open (and would highly recommend doing so).
And we were prepared for the extra 10min detour to get here.
We were the only guests so can see why they might be closed if they are not sure anyone is coming. When we arrived we called the number and the host came out quickly.
With that said, we had an excellent stay here.
The owner/host was very helpful. She offered to cook for us at “anytime” when we asked when the kitchen would be open.
We had really good food for dinner, especially considering the price. Big pasta portions for €7. And the pilgrim kitchen was quite well equipped with utensils and some communal items/left items from other guests. We didn’t see any other restaurant/ supermarket nearby so would recommend bringing dinner or eating at the Albergue.
The common areas are really lovely. There are cosy sofas on each floor with good WiFi and a large balcony for drying clothes. The gardens are very pretty, we found the cats to be quite friendly and sweet.
It was a very peaceful night here and since finishing the Camino we both agree was the best Albergue of the trip.

Unfortunately, the worst experience on my Camino. Literally "haunted castle" , we were the only guests. Clogged drain in the shower, a lot of noise at night, and it was not the pilgrims, but probably owner's company. Screeching of the cat in the house. One was almost afraid to close an eye at night. If possible, do not plan a stop at this accommodation, which is up to 3 km beyond Pregontoño.

Sign on the door saying they were closed. Don’t make the mistake we did of going the extra distance without calling or messaging first.

Just off the Camino. It’s not far to walk and is awesome! Great food, kind and helpful staff. The beds were nice and clean and the facility was peaceful.

This is the second time I’ve stayed at this albergue in the last 5 years and the second time I’ve been given a 4-bedded dormitory to myself. They seem to open as many dormitories as needed to give solo travellers, couples and small groups a dormitory of their own. A lovely touch and much appreciated.
The albergue is beside a road but it’s not a busy one and the grounds are extensive, filled with apple trees, chestnut trees, kiwi vines, shaded benches and tables. So plenty of peaceful places to relax. It has a cafeteria serving a good choice of healthy food, a separate large dining room and a fully-equipped kitchen for those who want to cater for themselves.
Susannah on reception is lovely, quiet and helpful.
If the Camino has taught you the gift of gratitude, I think you’ll be grateful you walked the extra few hundred metres to get here. I’m certainly glad that I did.

The turn off the Camino is actually at km 34.170 and the Albergue/Pension is a short 600 meters away. We had a lovely and spacious room for two. The bunk rooms looked clean and comfy. We enjoyed local wine and beer bought on site and had yogurt and fruit for breakfast in addition to
the usual tostados. I would recommend this place, especially if you want to go further than Arzua and away from the masses for a night.

It says it’s only a few meters off the path but it felt much further. After a long day of walking - going down to then cross over the freeway and back up a hill is not worth it. No peregrino dinner only single menu items. Would not recommend. Save yourself the extra kms & keep walking on the path.

Not much to write home about, functional. On a busy road, and food options were not great. Just walk a bit further and there's a much nicer place that is open as at July 2021, Taberna Vella, that has a lovely café in front, Taberna Nova.

Slightly of the Camino- got a bit worried looking for the dirt track, it’s now a proper paved road. This is a great alternative to crowded Arzúa, nice food and a great garden to relax in- definitely worth the extra 600meters. It was rather quiet but our Camino family got our own dorm rather than sharing with a solo traveller the way most albergues seem to do, which was a really nice touch.

Walk until km 34.155 and then turn left into a paved road. The road crosses directly the new highway in construction
